Advocacy Award Given to SteppingStone Program Director

The California Association for Adult Day Services (CAADS), a statewide advocacy group that advocates for the development of adult day services chronically ill and disabled adults awarded their annual Community Advocacy Award to Benny Wong, Program Director of SteppingStone’s Golden Gate Day Health Center.

Benny was chosen among leaders of the over 300 Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) centers in California because of the extraordinary empowerment he has nurtured at the Golden Gate ADHC in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.   Benny energized the ADHC participants to speak out to their district legislative representatives and to the Governor protesting against proposed cuts and elimination of ADHC in this past year’s budget proposal.
