Meet SteppingStone’s Management Team.

Moli Steinert became SteppingStone's Executive Director in June of 2009. She previously served as the Program Director of our Mission Creek Day Health Center. Prior to joining SteppingStone, Moli was Executive Director of openhouse where she led efforts to give lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults better access to aging services as well as securing the first senior-housing for LGBT low income seniors in San Francisco. She has over 25 years of nonprofit management and development experience, having worked with numerous human service organizations, and is a graduate of The University of California Davis, in Applied Behavioral Sciences. Moli is a Mayoral appointee to San Francisco’s Long Term Care Coordinating Council and on the Board of Directors of the California Association for Adult Day Services (CAADS).
Program Directors
At each of our four ADHC Centers, SteppingStone's caring and compassionate staff are led by our diverse and highly skilled team of Program Directors. In addition to overseeing program activities and supervising staff, Program Directors are instrumental in helping our interdisciplinary care team develop each participant's individualized care plan, and ensuring his or her success in our program.
Golden Gate Center
Benny Wong joined SteppingStone as a Program Director in 2008. Previously, he was with the Family Service Agency of San Francisco, where he was instrumental in organizing mental health education for the Chinese Community in San Francisco. Benny has a Masters of Social Work from San Francisco State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Benny was recently appointed an Advisory Council member of the San Francisco Aging and Disabilities Commission. Benny was honored as one of Hong Kong’s 10 best social workers in 1997, was Chairman of the Asian Caucus advocating for the needs of elderly Asian and Pacific Islanders in San Francisco from 2003-07, won the Community Hero award from the Asian Pacific American Heritage Awards 2007, and the 2010 Quality Award from the California Association of Adult Day Services.
Mabini Center
Mollie Tobias joined SteppingStone in 2010 as a Social Worker Assistant, and was promoted to Program Director in May 2011. She has a Masters in Science, Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Gerontology from San Francisco State University. She previously worked at AgeSong as a trainee, helping elders in a person-centered approach, and at BAART, a methadone clinic, where she provided a stable environment and resources to low-income clients. Additionally, Mollie has over 10 years of work experience in the airline industry, managing and counseling staff members.
Mission Creek Center
Roxie Kellam first began at SteppingStone's Mission Creek ADHC site in the Social Work department and was hired as Program Director in July 2010. She has a Masters in Gerontology from San Francisco State University. She worked for 10 years with UCSF and UC Berkeley as a qualitative researcher for senior mental health, substance abuse, and family caregiver projects. Roxie has also worked with nonprofit organizations as a cultural competency trainer helping providers of senior programs to create safe and welcoming environments for the LGBT seniors they serve. She has served as a residential care Ombudsman for Alameda County, and on the Alameda County Working Team for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse.
Presentation Center
Nicole Clause, Program Director of Presentation Day Health, has been a staff member since 2001. Nicole is a a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Social Work. After four years serving as Presentation’s Activities Director, Nicole assumed the role of Program Director in 2005. Prior to joining SteppingStone, Nicole’s work with seniors included coordinating The Living Room drop-in center at St. Anthony’s, managing The Friendship Center at Services for Seniors, and serving as Program Manager at Crestwood Manor, a geriatric psychiatric facility.
